I may or may not be obsessed with stripes.
As part of my mom uniform, I own a slue of striped tees, long sleeve and short – most of which have black stripes. But all my striped shirts don’t look the same. Here’s the thing: Stripes tees are an easy style solution to making an outfit looked dress up or down, and are beyond versatile as a wardrobe staple since you can pair them with pants, skirts and layer over sweaters, it’s such a Joyfully Styled look for the fashion trends today. Also, you can shop at any store for a striped long sleeve tee, and if you line up your shirts, they won’t look the same… even though you get a similar look among your wardrobe.
What I like to do is buy stripe T-shirts with different necklines. Crewneck is my favorite, but I purchase v-neck, boatneck and for winter, mock or turtleneck striped shirts, and I promise you, they all don’t look the same… just similar. And now that I’m officially a shirt tucker, I feel like they give my jeans an upgrade in terms of a look that comes off as pulled together.
And my other mom wardrobe essential? Oxford shoes. They are a perfect in between for a shoe that is flat, and comfortable for running errand with my littles, but is also a dressier style, making any ensemble look refined. I own different pairs of oxfords, including the version of one of this year’s biggest trend – the platform oxford. Normally, white soles on shoes would deter me from wearing them, but paired with the shiny patent leather, I think they look geeky and 70s inspired.
