Just like Joan Jett proclaimed in the 80s, I love rock n’ roll!
Style is still a factor for me as a mom, and lately, I’ve been indulging my darker side that speaks to the concert kid I once was. Music was and still is a huge part of the culture behind how I dress, and it was a scene that gave me the opportunity to be a music journalist and photographer long before my babes were born.
Always looking to expand my wardrobe, I had heard about Gypsy Warrior online, and once I learned they were located in Ridgewood, New Jersey, I took the drive up there during my last week of maternity leave to shop the store in person. If you love Stevie Nicks, have an affliction for Ouija boards, and have a tendency to want to show off your inner rockstar, then you need to check out Gypsy Warrior! I’m so lucky that NJ has a store like this for all us badass girls who aren’t afraid to wear chokers and don all black like Wednesday Addams. So wish a place like this was around when I was growing up!
Besides for paring my Rock N Roll Sweater with dresses, I love how it looks with skinny jeans and Converse. It’s such a cozy sweater, and I’ve gotten a lot of compliments wearing it. Definitely one of my favorites that I love wearing with my other Gypsy Warrior clothes.
And to go along with my sweater, here’s a Rock N Roll playlist inspired by Gypsy Warrior:
- Joan Jett – “I Love Rock N Roll”
- Steve Nicks – “Edge of Seventeen”
- Led Zepplin – “The Ocean”
- Nirvana – “Heart Shaped Box”
- Fleetwood Mac – “Gold Dust Woman”
- Deep Purple -“Smoke On The Water”
- Ramones – “Beat On The Brat”
- Soundgarden – “Black Hole Sun”
- Artic Monkeys – “R U Mine”
- Blondie – “Heart Of Glass”
