Breaking your own fashion habits can be very hard. I’m currently in the process of struggling to get out of a zone of wearing black less often since it can be a little dreary, and look a tad too goth-ish at times. Don’t get me wrong – I live for a dark and moody outfit that gives a nod to rock n’ roll style.
But sometimes, I need to put my punk rock mom tendencies a side so I can play up the eccentric, girly side of my style that I also am drawn to. And yes, I do often coordinate my outfit with the boys… And no, they will never wear the same outfit at the same time.
Never one to be afraid of bold colors, I’ve always heard of red being a great color for brunettes to wear. Since I’m
pale fair skinned, I have to adjust my makeup when wearing particular colors as they tend to wash me out. I paired this adorable red dress I scored from Forever 21 with Lipstick Queen’s Sinners Matte Lipstick in Sunny Rouge, and did a couple of extra swipes of blush via Too Faced Love Flush Blush in Baby Love.
I want to challenge myself to maybe shop elsewhere for clothes so that I can change up my look more often. No one wants to be stuck in one aesthetic, and for me, it’s all about expanding my closet (because who doesn’t love to shop) with pieces that don’t just put me in a box in terms of my style. There is no way I’ll ever give up wearing black… but I’m thinking I need a vacation from it. I say that now, and watch what I end up wearing 2 days from now.
